Answer: Community Culinary School of Charlotte is a private nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides training and job search assistance in the food service industry for people who have experienced barriers to employment. Our Vision: CCSC, Inc. is committed to helping adults who struggle with unemployment and underemployment achieve success in their careers and personal lives. As a result, our community's need for trained, dependable employees in the food service/hospitality industry will be addressed. While empowering these individuals, CCSC will help to end hunger in the Charlotte area by recycling nutritious food whenever available that would otherwise be wasted. Graduates of the CCSC program will gain better life skills, work skills and dignity as a result of their services to others. CCSC graduates will serve as positive role models for their families and the community due to their heightened appreciation of life-affirming principles and family values. Our Values: CCSC, Inc. will create win-win situations for the chronically unemployed and underemployed adults; for the understaffed food service/hospitality industry, and for people in Charlotte who otherwise would not have access to nutritious meals. These goals will be achieved by: respecting the talents and abilities of all participants; teaching through service to others; providing support, encouragement and guidance to participants during the program and after graduation; recognizing the special needs and talents of participants; and nurturing participants' self-esteem and self-confidence.
