Answer: Reins of Life, Inc. is a 501c3 organization with two centers located in South Bend and Michigan City. We serve riders mainly from St. Joseph, La Porte, and Porter Counties, IN. We pride ourselves on being a PATH Intl. (Professional Association of Therapeutic HorsemanshipInternational) Premier Accredited Center since our inception in 1978. Therapeutic riding classes and special programs are held year-round, Monday Saturday, typically starting around 9 am and concluding at 8 pm. We offer mounted and unmounted activities for participants with physical, emotional, cognitive, and social diagnoses to participants as young as two, with no upper age limit. With the help of horses, ponies, and donkeys, participants with mild to severe physical, emotional, cognitive, and social disabilities work to improve their quality of life and advance in their journey toward greater independence. Pioneering programs like ours support participants and families by increasing their emotional, social, and functional developmental levels, which equip them to enter more streamed environments. This, in turn, improves community welfare for their families and the community at large.
