Answer: Red Helmet Training uses digital and table top simulators to train fire and emergency service professionals. We do this by enhancing the decision making process used by first responders by focusing on their situational awareness and developing the use of recognition primed decision making and expanding on the mental slide carousel. We teach classes in human factors and crew resource management to enable them to make better and informed decisions. These skills can be applied to all types of emergency incidents including structure fires, wildland fires, hazardous materials responses and multi-casualty incidents. We have three city tables which cover residential, commercial and industrial areas. We also have a wildland table that actually burns. These tables can also be used in certified classes through the California State Fire Marshal (CSFM), the California Specialized Training Institute (CSTI) and the National Wildland Coordinating Group (NWCG).
