Our studio is adept at a variety of project types including primary and higher education, hospitality, mixed-use, multifamily residential, and adaptive reuse and we approach each project in a fresh yet experienced manner. Our team brings a collective passion for design, a drive for collaboration and innovation, an obsession with details, and a keen interest in the way things are built to each undertaking. Rawlings architects pc was founded in 1998 by Ed Rawlings. The firms first project, the Dance Building/Dance Studio Apartments, was the recipient of the inaugural New York City AIA Housing Design Award and we have continued to develop a portfolio of notable projects. The Thompson LES Hotel was published in 101 Cool Buildings: The Best of NYC Architecture 1999-2009. The School of Visual Arts Dormitory was the recipient of the 2011 Society of American Registered Architects New York design award and a 2012 Brick in Architecture Bronze Award. In 2016, 215 Sullivan Street was awarded a National Merit Award by the Society of American Registered Architects.
