Answer: Rainbow Turtle was set up in 2002 to promote and develop Fair Trade in Renfrewshire and beyond through two distinct arms - Rainbow Turtle Just Trading and Rainbow Turtle Charity. We raise public awareness of Fair Trade and encourage more people to buy fairly traded products through its shop in Paisley's historic town centre. It is situated across from the famous Paisley Abbey and through various partnerships across Schools, Churches and Businesses throughout Renfrewshire. Our shop in Paisley stocks a diverse range of goods including foodstuffs, clothing, jewellery, crafts, and leisure items. The trading company also provides organisations with stalls on a sale or return basis. We provide information and supply Fair Trade goods to schools and churches for their tuckshops and coffee mornings. We also offer Fair Trade tuck boxes to local offices, with fairly traded foodstuffs such as tea, coffee, chocolate, biscuits etc. We take part in community and trade events in order to spread the message of Fair Trade. By choosing quality fair trade products we can force markets to provide fairer wages for skilled producers, who too often get the worst deal in today's economic climate. We also operate online through our website where you are able to purchase Fair Trade hampers, clerical stoles and other Fair Trade products from our website. The website is currently under improvement/expansion and will provide you with a variety of new products to shop for. The charity is a recognised Scottish Charity ( Scottish charity number SC034097 ) commited to working in partnership with developing world producers and promoting the Fair Trade message through education.
