Answer: Welcome to Project Imo! We are a 501c3 charitable educational organization that focuses on youth and community development and environmental conservation through shared experiences with each other and nature. We use a variety of experiential learning modalities such as adventure education, project-based learning, and experiential peacebuilding programs to connect people to self, other, and the broader natural world. Our vision sees empowered, sustainable, diverse, and equitable communities connected with the environment where youth and the natural world are included as members with leadership voice. Our mission is to provide immersive experiential and adventure education programs to help youth and communities develop relationships; provide access to nature to under-resourced communities; and spark environmental conservation. In practice, our mission journey uses adventurous day and overnight programs for youth and adult community groups such as backpacking, hiking, paddle sports, adventure education sequences, nature-focused STEAM education, technology integrations, and structured community partnership programs. Our goals are to deliver tremendous program experiences supported by frameworks and partnership agreements that create success pipelines long after the program is over.
