Answer: Why Paws Pet Cremations Services was Created Paws Pet Cremation was founded after Nicole and Rebecca Alamillo faced the devastating loss of their beloved 7-year-old rescue dog, Joey. Needless to say, Nicole and Rebecca thought of Joey as a full member of their family. Joey, a beautiful shepherd mix who looked like a purebred shepherd, had been growing increasingly ill. Nicole and Rebecca could not bear the thought of losing her. For close to three years they lovingly cared for Joey, doing everything they could to try to nurse her back to health. Eventually, though, Joey’s brain damage became too great. Nicole and Rebecca had to make the excruciatingly difficult decision to euthanize Joey. Then they faced additional decisions regarding what to do with their adored pet’s remains and how to cope with the loss. After that very challenging experience, and in Joey’s memory, Nicole and Rebecca made the decision to open a business that would offer individual animal cremation services, giving other pet lovers a loving option for aftercare. How Liz Joined the Paws Team Nicole and Rebecca are also the owners of Chubby’s Cruisers, a popular Los Angeles-area bicycle store. As COO of Chubby’s Cruisers, Liz had already proven that she is a strong business leader with the ability to take an idea and bring it to fruition. Between her business and organizational skills, attention to detail, high energy level and love of animals, Liz was a natural choice for the Paws team. In fact, Liz has been instrumental in making the vision of providing compassionate animal cremation services a reality. As fellow pet lovers, Nicole, Rebecca and Liz understand what you are going through. They pledge to always treat your pet as they would their own, and to provide dignity and integrity through individual pet cremation.
