Answer: One Voice Texas is a collaborative of 100+ public, private and non-profit organizations and individuals working together to ensure that the health and human services needs of all Texans are addressed through public policy and program initiatives. One Voice Texas was created in 2003 after state budget cuts left many health and human services programs questioning their abilities to survive and many of their clients unable to access critical services. The success of One Voice Texas is its ability to unify the voices of hundreds of diverse organizations/individuals and consolidate common interests, concerns, goals, and work efforts regarding community needs, community education/awareness/engagement, program development, funding, and advocacy. Active organizational participation is the strength of One Voice Texas. Through a workgroup model, One Voice Texas members identify and develop issues and recommendations that are intended to strengthen the health and human services delivery system for all Texans by addressing: Basic Needs and Community Care Behavioral Health Child and Youth Services Education Healthcare Collaboration, capacity-building and advocacy are the primary activities of One Voice Texas as we focus on getthing the right people to the right table at the right time to address systemic solutions to health and human services in Texas.
