The National Museum of Language, a small museum that explores the transformative powers of language, opened to the public May 3, 2008 after more than ten years in the making. A trailblazer in the field there are no more than three museums in the world with a similar focus the Museum examines the history, the impact, and the art of language. The museum welcomes visitors ages 9-99. For younger visitors, a hands-on activity room offers a language game, a chance to practice calligraphy, video presentations, and hands-on time with artifacts. The National Museum of Language has been developing, planning, and collecting since 1997. The Founders and Directors of the Museum are language professionals from government, academe, and the private sectors, as well as others interested in language.
