Answer: In July of 1999 brothers Craig and Lee Opsahl founded MTW, a machine shop in Merrill, Wisconsin, focused on producing small metal parts and die components. In 2003, with an innovative culture, the company expanded from its tool and die focus to include more services, such as water jet cutting, new machining capabilities and producing a wide variety of aluminum brackets. Within eight years, MTW had grown ten times in size and relocated to a 55,000 square foot facility located at 202 S. Thomas Street in Merrill, Wisconsin. The additional space allowed the company to expand its capabilities for new services, including laser cutting, fabrication of larger weldments and new machining and turning centers. Current capabilities include machining, welding, forming, wet paint, prototyping, design support services, water jet cutting and laser cutting. We serve customers in the industries of Industrial Manufacturing, Equipment Manufacturing, Construction, Healthcare, Technology, Mass Transit, Service & Off-road Vehicles, Window Manufacturing, Government, Job Shops and many others.
