Answer: Motion Picture Corporation of America (MPCA) was co-founded by Brad Krevoy in 1986 to focus on producing, acquiring, and distributing commercial motion picture and television productions. Since its inception, MPCA has produced, acquired, and distributed over 100 movies, including more than 20 major studio theatrical releases. MPCA is best known for its ability to produce commercial feature comedies, including Dumb and Dumber, the Farrelly Brothers first feature film starring Jim Carrey, which generated a gross worldwide box office of $250 million; Kingpin starring Woody Harrelson, Randy Quaid, and Bill Murray; Beverly Hills Ninja starring Chris Farley; and Disneys Jungle 2 Jungle starring Tim Allen. MPCA recently produced the critically acclaimed drama Taking Chance starring Kevin Bacon for HBO Films, which premiered on HBO to the highest ratings of any original film in the past five years and was nominated for 10 Emmys (winning one), PGA, WGA, DGA, ASC, ACE, and SAG awards, and two Golden Globes (Best Film and winning for Best Actor, Kevin Bacon). Taking Chance is based on the heartwarming story of military escort Lt. Col. Michael Strobls journey across America to bring fallen Marine PFC Chance Phelps to rest with his family. MPCAs other recent productions include the second season of When Calls the Heart, the Hallmark Channel original series based on the bestselling novels by Janette Oke; A Royal Christmas, starring Jane Seymour and Lacey Chabert, the second highest rated Hallmark Channel original movie of 2014; and Murder, She Baked: A Chocolate Chip Cookie Mystery, starring Alison Sweeney, based on the Joanne Flukes Hannah Swensen Mysteries, which debuted to record ratings on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. MPCAs upcoming slate of films includes the English language remake of the 2009 Academy Award Winner for Best Foreign Language Film, Departures (from Japan). MPCA is also developing the English language remake of the Japanese box office sensation Yomigaeri with DreamWorks. For television, MPCA is developing a modern-day reboot of the Roger Moore series The Saint. To date, MPCAs motion picture and television projects have grossed more than $1 billion worldwide in all media, earning the company its reputation as a leading provider of commercial motion picture product at all budget levels and an aggressive sales and marketing force with U.S. studios and international buyers.
