Answer: Mission Guatemala Inc. is a faith-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission to help meet the basic needs and improve the quality of life of under-served and impoverished Guatemalan peoples through health, education and nutrition initiatives and missionary service. Our organization operates in the highlands of Guatemala in the community of San Andres Semetabaj and the surrounding areas. We're passionate about collaborating with communities to help improve health, education and nutrition. We also work with villages to help with community development and improvement projects. Program services are funded through generous donations and sponsorships with the majority of this support provided by United Methodist Church congregations. Project execution relies on the many dedicated volunteer mission teams who come for week-long trips to work in the communities we serve. Current intiatives include: - Low-cost medical, dental and eye clinics in San Andres Semetabaj - Feeding centers and daily snack program for chronically malnourished children - Child sponsorship program in the community of Nueva Esperanza - Fuel efficient wood burning stoves program - Water filter program for schools and families in need - Preschool and nutrition center
