Answer: Professional chamber orchestra Founded in 1989 by Artistic Director Jay Fishman, the Minnesota Sinfonia is a professional chamber orchestra based in Minneapolis, MN. The mission of the Sinfonia is to to serve the musical and educational needs of the citizens of MIinnesota, with special emphasis on families with young children, inner-city youth, seniors and those with limited financial means. The Sinfonia is the only orchestra of its kind in the entire country, offering all concerts free of admission charges, welcoming children to every event, and dedicating 1/3 of its budget and over half of all concerts to inner-city school performances. The Minnesota Sinfonia performs up to 80 free-admission chamber orchestra concerts per year. Half of those concerts are offered free to the public in venues throughout the Twin Cities, and the other half are performed for inner-city elementary students and Minneapolis and St. Paul Public Schools through the orchestra's "Music in the Schools" inner-city education program. For more about our programs and philosophies, a complete concert schedule, or to make a donation, please visit our web site or speak with one of our Board or staff members here on LinkedIn.
