Answer: Millennium was founded by former principal Robert Rhodes and former assistant principal Danielle Salzberg in 2002 with a $500,000 grant from New Visions for Public Schools. Lower Manhattan's Community Board 1 raised $14 million to build the school, which is located on the 11th, 12th and 13th floors of 75 Broad Street, the 1929 "International Telephone Building." Mr. Rhodes has been a public school teacher and administrator for more than 20 years. During his tenure at Millennium, he received Clark University's Secondary Educator of the Year Award in 2003, and in 2008 was awarded a Cahn Fellowship designed by Teachers College to recognize outstanding principals. MHS enrolls approximately 675 students. Vision We aspire to be an inclusive community that supports the development of compassionate and empowered learners.
