Answer: Michigan Sleep Network, P.C. is a leader in dental sleep medicine. We build close partnerships with physicians and physicians groups to treat & manage the sleep apnea population. Our solutions include comprehensive screening support, coordination of care, and treatment for obstructive sleep apnea with the oral appliance. Our mission is to improve overall health and prevent high utilization of resources associated with unmanaged sleep apnea. Oral Appliance therapy is an innovative treatment alternative for patients with obstructive sleep apnea and upper airway resistance syndrome. This therapy has been recognized by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine as and alternative to CPAP therapy. We focus on helping physicians increase screening for obstructive sleep apnea as it has been recognized as a significant health problem affecting 1 in 8 adults. It has been shown to be undiagnosed in as much to 80-90% of a medical practice. Studies have shown CPAP therapy, the gold standard of treatment, to be ineffective in more than half of patients treated due to non-compliance and inability to tolerate therapy. Michigan Sleep Network offers an evidence-based treatment option for physicians to consider for patients with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea and those that have failed on CPAP. We offer patients a free consultation to asses whether oral appliance treatment is appropriate.
