Answer: Our Mission: to provide health care to underserved people of our community and world through Christian service. Mercy &Truth Medical Missions (MTMM), has three primary care safety net clinics, located in Shawnee and Kansas City, Kansas. As a Kansas charitable health care provider, we strive to meet the needs of the uninsured or underserved clients of our community by offering low cost, affordable health care with a sliding scale for those who follow at or below the federal poverty guidelines for income. Services provided at the clinics include primary care for all ages, full service laboratory, immunizations, and vaccines for children program, acute and chronic care, and preventative health care in education and client evaluations. Our specialty services include womens health, prenatal and birthing, pediatrics, asthma & allergy and diabetes. In addition, MTMM prepares and sends 12-14 volunteer health care teams annually to serve internationally in developing countries. MTMM clinical structure is that of the medical home philosophy we refer to as the old family doctor where everyone knows your name. The primary goal in this setting is that clients will establish relationships with the primary care provider on a continuum of health involving the entire family. This approach actually enhances healthy lifestyles and accountability for families to maintain health care relationships. MTMM has a total of 20 health care providers who give of their expertise in the clinics either as employed staff or volunteers. The clinics typically start serving clients at 8:30 am and finish at 4:45. However, with the extended hours some of the clinics are now open until 6:45 or 8:45pm depending on the location. After hours providers on-call at all times including the birth center to assist clients as needed. Our goal with on-call services is to reduce visits to the emergency department.
