Answer: Mercurius Biofuels was founded in 2009 and later incorporated into Mercurius Biorefining. Our mission is to produce a wide range of biomaterials, with a focus on drop-in biofuels for aviation and diesel engines. In addition, the process generates valuable by-products such as FDCA, a monomer which can be further used in bioplatics. The patented REACH process (Renewable Acid-hydrolysis Condensation Hydrotreating) is a novel application of proven technologies, and allows for divergent product streams using raw, cellulosic (and hemi-cellulosic) non-food waste & residues. Feedstock sources include municipalities (MSW), forestry and agriculture.
