Answer: Medals4Mettle is a national non-profit organization that collects earned finishers' medals from half marathoners, marathoners and triathletes, and presents these medals to patients (children and adults) fighting chronic or life-threatening illnesses. We do this as a celebration of the human spirit, knowing that while our medal recipients not be out on the race course with us, they are fighting in the race for their own lives. Medals4Mettle has over 50 chapters worldwide. Since our founding in 2005, we have presented over 25,000 medals to deserving children and adults. Our chapter coordinators are all volunteers that coordinate medal collection and distribution in their local areas; form partnerships with local racing clubs and event coordinators; work with regional hospitals and health care facilities to present medals; and manage their chapter fundraising and media relations.
