Answer: Lyman-Morse is a custom boat building yard in midcoast Maine. In business for over 35 years, we specialize in luxury custom power and sailing yachts constructed of fiberglass, advanced composites, and aluminum. We have extensive experience with pre-preg materials, and have been employing the SCRIMP process since its inception. We are able to complete virtually all aspects of the boat building process in house from carpentry, electrical, mechanical, lamination, canvas/upholstery, cabinet making, metal fabrication, rigging and more. Lyman Morse also maintains a large service yard, capable of servicing yachts up to 130 feet. A 110-ton travelift, 80-ton mast crane, and 15 buildings on 12 acres of waterfront property means that we can handle anything from large scale refits to regular seasonal maintenance. Recently completed projects include the 63' Farr designed Kiwi Spirit. With Stanley Paris at her helm, he is currently attempting a solo circumnavigation in the Corinthian style without the use of fossil fuels. The trip is expected to take approximately 120 days. The 42' Downeast Flybridge cruiser designed by C. Raymond Hunt/Peter Boyce, Peregrine, was launched in the summer for use cruising the East Coast. Her exquisite detailing and jet drive system provide for an exceptionally comfortable ride. The 27' SpeedDream is a prototype designed to be the world's fastest monohull. She has just completed the racing circuit in Europe and is returning to the US. Lyman-Morse excels at creative solutions to complex custom projects. Our advanced composites knowledge allows us to tackle projects bothin inside and outside the marine world where durability, cutting edge technology and cost effectiveness are paramount.
