Answer: The Lucas Company incorporated in 1980 for general business purposes. Between 1972 and 1980 the company operated as a sole proprietorship under David M. Lucas, PE. In January of 1993 the firm changed its name to Lucas-Forman, Inc. Presently the owners/principals in the firm are Arthur F. Forman, PE, PLS, and Matthew J. Lucas, PLS. Lucas-Forman as successor to David M. Lucas, PE, has over 40 years of land surveying and civil engineering experience in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. The firm performs surveys ranging from residential mortgage surveys to surveying an 1100-acre McDowell Nature Preserve and 1300-acre Latta Nature Preserve for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Parks & Recreation Department.
