Answer: We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit and a National Estuary Program that protects and restores the lower Columbia River, which flows between the states of Oregon and Washington. We restore habitat to benefit endangered salmon and other species; we monitor habitat conditions along the river and at our restoration sites; we bring local, state, and federal partners together to advance the Columbias care; and we fill gaps in scientific knowledge of the river. We lead watershed-focused science lessons in the classroom and outdoors for K-12 students; lead group on-water excursions in our two Big Canoes; and engage community members through volunteer events to plant trees, remove invasive species, and clean up beaches.
