Answer: LinkeSculpture specializes in creating beauty through art. Harold Linke sculpts movement, sometimes figurative, sometimes abstract. For twenty years he has found gestures in life which connect what we know with what we do not know. These gestures, metaphors really, form the basis of his work. Self-taught from hundreds of books he has read on sculpture technique and anatomy, Mr. Linke creates moving sculptures from the world of dance and from the world of the mind. Despite his two engineering degrees from Stanford University, his work flows--never boxy or flat, never constrained by boundaries. Much of his work is cast bronze but an increasing portion is showing up as abstract work in resin and steel-reinforced fiberglass. " From the beginning, I sought broader movement and bigger gesture than I could find with ordinary clay and static model poses. Plainly, I needed strong knowledge of anatomy and models who could float midair. The knowledge I found in anatomy books--muscles, bones, gravity, mass, acceleration all playing together. Over 900 pieces of Mr. Linke's sculpture reside in private collections around the world. Some have garnered top awards in juried shows in Keystone, Colorado, Lakewood, Colorado and Sheridan Wyoming. For nine years Mr. Linke has exhibited his work at La Tour Restaurant, voted six years running as Vail, Colorado's best restaurant.
