Organized in 2003, after thirteen years of professional practice in Architectural Lighting Design by the two principals, the studio is a multi-disciplinary lighting design firm that offers a fresh approach to establishing innovative lighting solutions for the built environment. We specialize in enhancing the architectural environment by creative lighting solutions with a human-centric approach. Our philosophy stems from uniting architecture and light. If architecture is the art and science of conceiving form then architectural lighting is the art and science of revealing that form in light. Light directly impacts how we design interior and exterior environments. It influences spatial form and the materials from which they are composed. We view the design process as a collaborative effort, working within our clients design, scheduling, and financial goals. Beginning in the planning phase, Lighting Design Studio can define appropriate lighting criteria by identifying issues, establishing methods, and developing budgets and cost controls. In design, we look for images in light that best express the character and style of the project. Texture, contrast, color, integrated detail, ornament, optics and natural light make up our palette.
