We are a proud member of HOMEteam, which provides first-time home-buyer education and financial counseling to hundreds of New Hampshire families every year. We were founded in 1988 as the Laconia Area Community Land Trust. For the past 25 years, we have developed high-quality, affordable rental housing throughout the Lakes Region. We currently own and operate a $46 million real estate portfolio comprising 341 affordable apartments in Ashland, Laconia, Meredith, Tilton, and Wolfeboro. We also operate a four-unit transitional housing program for homeless families. These families stay with us for about 18 months while they focus on securing stable employment and permanent housing. Today, in addition to building affordable rental housing, we are working to develop other types of real estate that responds to local community needs. This includes affordable, single-family homes for sale; mixed-income multi-family rental properties; and community facilities for things like child care, health care, and workforce development. In addition, we are increasing our capacity for community building and engagement. As we deepen our relationships with our tenants and their neighbors through public safety and neighborhood improvement initiatives, we will coordinate mentorship and training opportunities to help residents achieve their goals for financial mobility and meaningful participation in civic life.
