Answer: Immortal Data was established to solve the need for simple and inviolable data security and recovery even against natural disaster or sabotage. Immortal Data Inc's patented, proprietary technology addresses this need. Immortal's approach differs from the state of the art in the following ways: 1. We are placing robustly encoded data in physically distinct locations. This avoids many common mode failure points. 2. We utilize Internet Protocol (IP) for all communications. This opens the vast resources of COTS hardware and software for us to leverage in our development efforts. 3. We use both hard-wire and wireless interconnection. This avoids communications loss due to common mode failures or even multi-point hardware failures. 4. We gain robustness through numbers. We utilize inexpensive COTS parts rather than a single very expensive special purpose module. (5.) We have the potential to have modules communicate and exchange information even after a disaster disperses them. While we intend to prove this technology in the air/space market, we are confident this technology has broad relevance for archival storage on multiple platforms and that it is both feasible and commercially interesting.
