Answer: i2i Design started in 2002 to fill the need for sustainable, earth-friendly, handmade furniture. Today, were creating a wide variety of custom pieces from our workshop in Wood Dale IL. We create beautiful, functional solutions for any space. We coordinate any project from building a small end table for the average consumer to managing high-dollar commercial projects. Custom creations are our specialty. We use high-quality hardwood lumber from trees that have grown for several generations in the local Chicago area urban forest. These trees have unfortunately come down due to disease, storm damage or construction reasons. Creating custom furniture from this local reclaimed lumber prevents the wood from finding its way into landfills or becoming firewood or mulchand is a great way of recycling it into something that will live on in another form, hopefully for several more generations. All our pieces are assembled with non-toxic, water-based, FDA approved glue. The beauty of the wood is enhanced by using solvent-free, zero VOC resilient stains, and then sealed with earth-friendly, water-based, durable finishes. Our workshop is designed to minimize waste. Wood scraps and sawdust keep the facility heated through the winter and reduce landfill waste.
