Answer: Horizon Gate is a community of artists, filmmakers and performers who create works stimulating significant, life-giving conversations. Our current emphasis is to call artists together around creations of short art films. These works both create productive artistic community and build a collection of art and films used in the Film Gallery Cafe. This is a hybrid venue which provides an atmosphere conducive to viewing and discussing the art and films we produce. The tangible art used in the films is also exhibited in the venue so that the experience is fuller than just on the screen. The fourth prototype of the short art film is now in pre-production with the goal of mobilizing teams of artists and filmmakers producing others concurrently. The Film Gallery Cafe is now a traveling exhibition collaborating with existing venues. In time we hope to have a permanent home in addition to a traveling outreach.
