Answer: History Salvaged began with a simple goal: the reclamation, salvaging and repurposing of wood and other natural materials from historic sites throughout the United States that would otherwise be discarded and lost to history. We work primarily with Witness Wood (our Trademarked slogan) and timbers removed from historical buildings and sites during the renovation and preservation of existing structures, as well as with trees and branches that have fallen in storms or are removed for safety reasons or expanded construction. We offer a significant alternative to support our client historical sites, museums, fraternal organizations, and others, rather than the discarding and destruction of these limited, one of a kind resources, thus preserving not only small pieces of history but also the integrity of the environment through the repurposing of these materials. Although our mainstay are fine writing instruments, we have developed a group of artists, craftsmen, artisans, and others to expand our product offering to include picture frames, cuff links, jewelry, knives, razors, artwork and other historic heirlooms. History Salvaged heirlooms are beautiful and unique pieces of American history. The Witness Wood in our vast collection is researched, authenticated and acquired and only then is it handcrafted into authentic historic heirlooms, heirlooms that we hope people will collect, gift and pass down to future generations along with their stories. Our collection of historic Witness Wood includes pieces from as early as the first decades of the 18th Century. Along with the master craftsmanship each History Salvaged creation is guaranteed authentic and is discreetly engraved with a Witness Wood control number that matches a Witness Wood tamper-proof hologram which is affixed to the corresponding Certificate of Authenticity.
