Answer: HighSight is a nonprofit organization which offers scholarship, academic and social support to low-income students attending private high schools throughout Chicago, preparing them to thrive at selective higher education institutions across the country. To do this, HighSight provides intensive tutoring, mentoring, leadership development, and college-readiness counseling, enabling students to succeed in high school and attend highly ranked colleges of their choice. While two-thirds of HighSight scholars enter the programs having been low- to moderately performing middle school students, 90% attain their high school honor roll and achieve, as a whole, an average GPA of 3.7. 100% of HighSight scholars attend a 4-year college, with 85% attending institutions in the top three (of seven) tiers of selectivity across the country. 75% graduate in four years, with nearly 90% graduating within 6 years, statistics that are seven times the national average for their peers in the same demographic groups. HighSight has provided over $7 million in scholarships to attend Chicago private schools over the years, and HighSight's staff works with our scholars and top-notch colleges and universities, securing more than $65 million in college scholarships utilized by HighSight graduates over the past 15 years. Many students receive full-ride scholarships, with those who take out loans having less than half the average debt load for American college students. HighSight is funded by private foundations and scores of supporters, just like you. Please contact us for more information on how to support HighSight as a tutor, volunteer, donor, and more.
