Answer: Healthy Homeworks is a nonprofit dedicated to creating healthy housing by building collaborative relationships between property owners and renters. We provide resources and educational experiences that empower landlords and tenants to become confident, capable, respectful partners who are mutually invested in the properties they share. Our Earn-a-Bed program provides free construction education to low-income Mainers. Teams of 4 who cannot afford a bed complete a 20-hour curriculum while building themselves new bed frames. Graduates may continue to our Apprenticeship Program to continue developing their skills until they qualify for municipal workforce development programs. Our Stewardship Team engages ethical property owners and supports them in their efforts to make their low-income housing safe and healthy.
