Answer: HackNEHS (Hack New England High Schools) is an annual hackathon for high schoolers run by high schoolers. We strive to provide a space for creativity and discussion among the next generation of technological innovators and entrepreneurs. New England is our home base, but our participants come from all walks of life and will continue to contribute to a diverse range of fields in the future. Our work consists of a combination of outreach and logistics. We work with local schools and student organizations to provide this opportunity to as many students as possible. We partner with corporate sponsors to make hackNEHS free of charge, and we work with experienced mentors to provide support to participants throughout the event. On the logistics side, we provide food, prizes, power, and other support for hundreds of students during the day of the hackathon. In 2016, over 230+ students attended hackNEHS, and we aim for a similar impact in our future events. Registration and further information can be found on our website.
