Answer: Habitat for Humanity York County was founded in 1985 by Miles Freeman and a small group of dedicated individuals. Since that time, Habitat has completed 33 homes in York County in partnership with hard-working people in need of decent, affordable housing. In June 2013, Habitat opened a ReStore to support our mission. The ReStore sells donated building materials, appliances, furniture, hardware and household goods to the general public, and proceeds support Habitats affordable housing mission. Habitats Weatherization and Aging in Place program brings community members together to assist low-income homeowners in need of assistance. Our mission is to help York Countys most vulnerable residents reduce their energy costs and improve their comfort, health, and safety in their home.
