Answer: For over 33 years, Habitat for Humanity of Wausau has been committed to the vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. We have witnessed the profound impact that safe, stable housing can have on families and communities. Habitat for Humanity of Wausau helps low-income families leave sub-standard housing by becoming homeowners. This is accomplished through a non-profit mortgage and volunteer sourced construction program utilizing generous in-kind donations. Since our founding in 1990, we have built 71 homes in our community. With every house built, we are one step closer to achieving our vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. While our families, students and dedicated volunteers provide the labor and commitment needed to build homes, we rely on the generosity of donors and funds from Habitat Wausau ReStore. Building homes from the ground up is an expensive endeavor and every dollar counts. Financial contribution will go towards: 1. Construction Materials: Quality building materials are essential to ensure the longevity and safety of the homes we build. 2. Skilled Labor: While much of the work is done by volunteers, we still need skilled tradespeople for crucial tasks like plumbing and electrical work. 3. Land Acquisition: The foundation of every Habitat home is the land it sits on. Your support helps us secure suitable locations for our families. 4. Mortgage Assistance: Habitat for Humanity offers affordable mortgage options, ensuring that our partner families can own their homes without the burden of unmanageable debt. 5. Community Development: Your contribution extends beyond the four walls of a home. It helps build stronger, more vibrant communities.
