The unique techniques that Macheis Wind has developed for Guitar Trees programs help individuals find the inner artist and hero within themselves. He uses a highly effective mix of empathy and compassion, abuse prevention training and experience with victims, and universal language of music to nurture a sense of trust and safety. Powerful songs are often created out of the participants feelings and life story. Guitar Tree presents programs in diverse locations including schools, shelters, hospitals, and detention/residential facilities, and does this in partnership with many businesses and organizations. Guitar Tree is one of the few non-profits that can reach and help many underserved and at-risk populations especially children and teenagers.
