Answer: The Geospatial Insurance Consortium (GIC) is a member-driven, at-cost initiative of the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) and Vexcel Data Program. This insurance industry consortium delivers geospatial imagery and analytics, leading to more informed underwriting, better claims decisions, reducing fraud and faster catastrophe response. Working in cooperation with Esri and leading aerial mapping organizations, the GIC is on a mission to provide the most comprehensive, precise, and up-to-date geospatial information for any address in the United States. It aims to do this through a program that includes: Catastrophe/Disaster Response, Annual Imagery Acquisition, and Advanced Analytics. The program provides GIC members with high-resolution, accurate, vertical and oblique aerial imagery. These datasets are made accessible through an online mapping portal, APIs, and select partners.
