Answer: Freedoms Edge is a hard cider company founded in Albion, Maine in 2020 by brothers-in-law Ned Ervin and Andy Kaplan. Long-time home brewers and fermenters, the pair decided that Maine, as home to some of the best apples in the world, should have a great home-grown cider. Our belief is that by using traditional bittersweet and bittersharp cider apples, we can make ciders that taste great without excessive sweetening or other additives. The company was also founded with a strong belief in people over profits, on being a fair & responsible employer, and on making a difference in our community (a percentage of sales is donated to Good Shepherd, which works to alleviate hunger around the state). Our ciders are now served in hundreds of bars, restaurants and stores across Maine, and we are currently the fastest growing cider company in New England.
