Answer: The Fort Smith Symphony is the oldest professional orchestra in Arkansas, bringing musicians from a six-state area to the River Valley to perform world-class concerts to a frequently sold-out audience. The Fort Smith Symphony is dedicated to providing our community with excellent orchestral programs which entertain, educate and enhance the quality of life. In line with our mission, we perform five subscription concerts a year, an outdoor community concert for families, and reach over 5,000 students per year with our education programs. The Symphony's community programs include the Perspectives Chamber Music Series, now in its second season, and a free family-friendly outdoor concert. We promote our community and rich regional music history with four albums featuring Arkansas-born composers William Grant Still and Florence Price, produced and distributed through Naxos Records. Our fifth album, featuring the work of Oklahoma-born Indigenous composer Louis W. Ballard, will be released in 2023.
