Answer: Eldridge Architecture is committed to promoting sustainability through rebuilding and redeveloping the existing urban fabric of cities. Louisville, Kentucky offers an array of opportunities towards this end. Right now, many Louisvillians are choosing to move back towards the city, recognizing its inherent value as a social and cultural hub of events and activities. It is the charge of Eldridge Architecture to help with the development of projects that provide the foundation for this change to take place. Currently, we are taking part in several renovations of existing downtown buildings, as well as exploring strategies of redevelopment of entire urban blocks. We hope to reconnect communities in ways that will help to break down traditional socio-economic barriers, stimulate balanced economic growth, and revive an awareness of our environment and surroundings. There are two main challenges, and probable opportunities, we are confronted with in redevelopment of urban Louisville. First is the public school system's ability to provide unbiased, excellent education to every school within the system no matter its locale. Second is the commitment of the city of Louisville to providing the proper funding to maintain existing infrastructure in addition to building the required new infrastructure that will help shape us into a prominent city of the world. Eldridge Architecture hopes to harness Louisville's unbridled spirit and energy to help these transformations take shape.
