Answer: Ecumenical Partnership for Housing serves families with children experiencing homelessness, or at risk of homelessness, in Brown County. Our mission is to provide safety, stability, and solutions to the families we serve, ultimately leading to a life of self-sufficiency. We aim to reduce homelessness one family at a time. Founded in 1992, EPH began as a partnership of four local churches seeking a response to family homelessness in our community. Over the past 30 years, EPH has grown to be capable of housing 35 families at a time. Today EPH works in partnership with 18 area churches to provide transitional housing and long-term supportive housing for families with children experiencing homelessness. In 2021, EPH provided homes for 56 families, including 157 children. Eviction prevention services are also available to help families at risk for homelessness remain in their homes. In 2021, EPH provided eviction prevention assistance for 17 families. All families receive intensive case management services designed to help them reach self-sufficiency. Each family meets with a case manager regularly-right in their home-to work on goals related to employment, budgeting, debt reduction, education, and care of a home. When a family is ready to move on from EPH, their case manager works with them to secure permanent housing and helps them move into their new home. The ultimate goal is for families to become self-sufficient and be able to rent independently or purchase their own home.
