This process precipitates scale-forming minerals within the controlled environment of the DWT reactor instead of on heat transfer surfaces. Corrosion Control: The DWT process increases the cycles of concentration, allowing the minerals to remain in the water. These minerals act as a natural buffer to corrosion. The resultant water is alkaline and non-corrosive. Elimination of Hazardous Chemicals: Electrochemical treatment can eliminate the need for toxic chemicals 100% Controls Biologics: The system activates the chlorides naturally present in the water, creating chlorine, which acts as a biocide. How Electrochemical Technology Works: A carefully controlled partial electrolysis splits water into H+ and OH- ions inside the reactor, lowering the pH and leading to a high concentration of bicarbonate ions and accelerating the precipitation of hard minerals inside the reactor. Equilibrium is maintained between the pH and alkalinity to minimize corrosion, allowing a significant increase in the cycles of concentration and minimizing blowdown to save water.
