Answer: We, the members of the Dunn's Corners Fire Department are proud of who we are, what we do and why we do it. We are firefighters, we answer the call! We run toward what everyone else runs away from! It doesn't matter the time of day or the weather outside. It doesn't make a difference whether you are a friend or a stranger. We don't care if you are well to do or down and out. We don't do it for rewards or pats on the back. We do what we do out of a sense of personal duty, and because it is simply the right thing to do. We receive our rewards out of a feeling of a job well done anytime we are able to help someone in need. We cannot forget those who came before us, the ones that paved the way with leadership and dedication. Because of them the concept of helping your neighbor and the spirit of volunteerism lives on. They were the organizers, the founders of our breed, a fellowship of firefighters. It lives in this neighborhood and stretches around the world. We the men and women of the Dunn's Corners Fire Department wish to maintain and continue the traditions of the fire service for the overall safety and protection of all. We thank all those firefighters that have come before us and honor all those firefighters that made the ultimate sacrifice. Though sometimes a thankless job, the rewards are many. We look forward to the never-ending perseverance of the Dunn's Corners Fire Department and the fire service in general. Those that will make this happen are the junior and the probationary firefighters of today, some of whom are already second and third generation firefighters. It is these up and coming young people, and more, yet to come in the future, who will carry on the service, honor and traditions of the Dunn's Corners Fire Department.
