Answer: Founded in 2011, DC Chinese Film is a nonprofit organization dedicated to discovering outstanding Chinese cinema around the world and promoting cultural diversity. Our biennial DC Chinese Film Festival (or, DCCFF) brings together new and established filmmakers, film scholars, industry professionals, and festival patrons to Washington D.C. - the heart of documentary and independent filmmaking, for a week long treat of rare screenings, cutting-edge panel discussions, and networking events. The 2nd DC Chinese Film Festival is scheduled to take place in Washington D.C., September 4-7, 2014. In order to present a richer and more diverse program, this year DCCFF is partnering with Smithsonian Institution (Freer & Sackler Galleries), Li Xianting Film Fund/Beijing Independent Film Festival, China-Hollywood Society, Women in Film & Video, CNEX and deGenerate Films. During the 4-day festival, we'll present this years nominated films and special selections in various locations in DC area, while keeping our online festival to showcase film submissions from amateur and student filmmakers. Apart from film screenings, well collaborate with our community partners to co-curate several mini forums, panel discussions and other special events. The festival is now accepting film submissions through June 30, 2014.
