Answer: Assumption High School is a Catholic high school located in Davenport, Iowa. On September 10, 1958 the doors opened to this Catholic co-institutional facility, as a result of the merger of St. Ambrose Academy for boys and Immaculate Conception Academy for girls. At an initial cost of $2.4 million, Assumption High School would have never been possible without the support of Bishop Ralph Hayes and the 12 parishes within Scott County in 1958: Holy Family, Our Lady of Lourdes, Sacred Heart, St. Alphonsus, St. Ann, St. Anthony, St. Henry, St. James, St. Joseph, St. Mary, St. Paul the Apostle, and St. Peter. Assumption became co-educational in 1969. From the beginning, Assumption’s Catholic identity has given it a special spirit. Each day begins with prayer, with the knowledge that all is done for the glory of God. AHS has been faithful to this vision that makes it unique in the community. Assumption is currently supported by nine Catholic parishes in the Diocese of Davenport: Holy Family, Our Lady of Lourdes, Our Lady of Victory, Sacred Heart, St. Alphonsus, St. Anthony, St, John Vianney, St. Mary, and St. Paul the Apostle. The school is accredited by the State of Iowa Department of Education. Assumption’s 9-12 certified enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year was 444 students. Assumption Students Will . . .
