DC's mission is to provide the community with research and evidence-based support services and education for individuals and families in their reproductive years. We envision a network where every individual is supported and empowered through their personal reproductive and parenting journeys. Programs are designed to consider social determinants of health in the overall model of delivery as well as in the individualized care provided to each client. Doulas, International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs), peers, and educators meet clients where they are, literally and figuratively, embodying DC's value for nonjudgmental, trauma-informed program delivery. DC values partnerships and has established satellite spots for services to increase program locations and accessibility while creating a network of support for clients and reducing overhead costs. DC has earned the Lane County Excellence Award in Public Health from Maternal Child Health and the International Care Award for Excellence in Community Lactation Programs. DC's new partnership with First Place Family Center, serving those experiencing homelessness, began in last 2018 and earned the 2018 Care Award, making DC one of 35 in the world to receive this honor, one of 25 in the US, and the only one in Oregon.
