Answer: Cuyahoga SWCD is a local government agency that provides numerous programs and events to address governmental Clean Water Act mandates for communities within the county. Programs include conservation education, watershed protection, school programs and opportunities to engage in conservation activities such as stream cleanups, soil restoration, water quality monitoring, tree planting programs, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWP3) reviews and inspections. The Cuyahoga SWCD professional staff of 14 works with nearly every community within the county. Programs and projects are often coordinated with local and national partners. Our board of supervisors consists of five elected officials who serve three year terms. Board members set policy and help guide the strategic plan. Each year associated supervisors are appointed to help advocate for District programs.
