Answer: Mission Statement: Crossover Outreach shows the love of Christ by feeding, clothing, and providing services and programs to those in need, restoring hope and rebuilding lives. Crossover envisions a community where basic needs are met, hope is restored and lives are rebuilt. Crossover was organized in 1991 by a consortium of churches in downtown Flint, MI. It was established to provide a convenient, centrally located, service center to help meet the needs of the disadvantaged and to offer programs designed to help them become more self-sufficient and to "cross over" to a better life. Crossover's mission is to help poverty stricken families, children and the homeless with free emergency food, clothing, personal items, household items, infant items and more. Clients who come to Crossover are screened and referred by the Department of Human Services; Love, Inc.; YWCA Women's Shelter; and over 100 other churches and agencies in the area. In addition, we offer programs to improve the quality of life and self-sufficiency of clients: such programs include youth camp and back to school programs. Crossover receives its funding from individual contributors, churches, civic organizations, businesses and grants. Food comes from direct donations as well as the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. Clothing and household items come from individuals and merchant donations.
