Answer: Founded in 1923, Convalescent Aid Society has been serving the San Gabriel Valley with the free loan of Durable Medical Equipment for over 90 years! An industry leader, CAS is the largest organization of its kind in the United States and is committed to making sure residents have access to items that allow them to recuperate or reside in comfort wherever they feel most at home. The nursing beds, wheel chairs, commodes, walkers and other mobility aids we offer help foster a sense of dignity and independence for our clients while benefiting families and loved ones at the same time. CAS also accepts donated medical equipment and is at the forefront of the sustainable DME reuse movement. Items we receive are professionally sanitized and repaired (when necessary) before being loaned out to others in need. As a completely free service to our clients, we rely on and are supported by the generosity of private individuals, community foundations and corporate grants. CAS is a registered 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, therefore, financial gifts and donations of items are tax deductible.
