Answer: The idea of Congruence Counseling Group started with a conversation over lunch in the Spring of 2019. Donna Bell and Leslie Stevens, two African American mental health practitioners, talked about more and more people approaching them looking for a therapeutic space that spoke to a diversity of experiences. A part of the reason that we built this practice was to create a community of practitioners who reflected the diversity of folks who came to see us. We saw a need that existed in the community for clients of diverse experiences and backgrounds to be able to see and receive help from clinicians with whom they identify. With over 20 years of combined experience, we decided to build a private practice group that would address that need. We built this practice with YOU in mind. We are proud to be a Black-owned and woman-owned mental health practice serving the needs of our community.
