Answer: Community Counseling Center strives to build and support emotionally strong families, individuals, and community through confidential, affordable counseling, education and advocacy. CCC is a nonprofit staffed by state-licensed, volunteer therapists and graduate level, supervised interns. We strive to help individuals and families develop the ability to identify choices and make changes during times of transition, confusion, depression or grief. Our program provides short-term psychological counseling services and information to San Luis Obispo County residents who do not qualify for public mental health resources or cannot afford private services. Fees are based on a sliding scale according to each client's ability to pay. No one is denied service on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, physical or mental disability. We provide ten (10) sessions of family, couple, or individual counseling for relationship, bereavement, parenting and life transition issues. We do not treat substance abuse, sexual abuse, domestic violence, custody cases and chronic mental illness as these require long-term counseling.
