Answer: In Raleigh, North Carolina CPRT is developing 5401 North a master-planned community that spans over 400 acres and is designed on the principles of sustainability and community. It is home to the Purple Martin Community Farm which grows hydroponic produce and sells to the surrounding community. In Downtown Baton Rouge CPRT manages a nine-story office building home to IBM, Raising Canes, and Fishman Haygood and an eleven-story residential tower known as 525 Lafayette. They also managed the newly redeveloped Onyx Residences, 27 apartments at the corner of Third and Convention Streets in downtown Baton Rouge and One Eleven apartments in the Liner Building of The Shaw Center. Most recently, the Baton Rouge Area Foundation and CPRT have taken the leadership role in developing and managing the Water Campus, a 35 acre collaborative research campus that will promote an environment of shared resources and relationships dedicated to creating a new knowledge economy based on the study of water and the critical issues regarding coastal protection and restoration. Today, CPRT is led by Carolyn Martin. She brings more than two decades of real estate management and expertise to the firm. Under her leadership, CPRT has become a nationally recognized real estate investment trust that is developing new and leading-edge real estate developments across the American Southeast. She continues to ensure that the firm holds true to its heritage and continues to make significant financial and quality-of-life contributions back to the communities that CPRT serves. Commercial Properties Realty Trust was born from an era of strip centers and Mr. Marvin's dream of seeing his company become something more philanthropic after he was gone. Today, it has become a company that prides itself on the redevelopment of real estate properties that have real purpose. The company has a new look, the projects are bigger, but we will always seek out projects that make a difference and contribute to the overall vision and mission of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation and the philanthropic intentions of Wilbur Marvin.
